Publication Ethics
This statement describes the ethical standards and responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process at The Axiom of the New Scientific Era.
Core Principles
- Integrity: The journal is committed to publishing reliable and scientifically valid research.
- Transparency: Editorial decisions are based on objective criteria and documented procedures.
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts and peer-review communications are treated as confidential.
- Fairness: The journal does not discriminate by nationality, gender, religion, or institutional affiliation.
The journal follows internationally recognized best practices, including the principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality: Submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere.
- Proper citation: All sources must be acknowledged using appropriate citation practices (APA style).
- Accuracy: Authors must present data truthfully and provide sufficient methodological details.
- Authorship: Authorship should reflect substantial contributions. All co-authors must approve the final version.
- Conflicts of interest: Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts.
- Ethics approval: Studies involving humans/animals must include ethics approval and informed consent where applicable.
Plagiarism and Similarity Checks
Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable, including uncredited copying, self-plagiarism, and inappropriate paraphrasing. The journal may perform similarity checks and may request clarifications or revisions when overlap is detected.
- Verbatim text must be quoted and cited.
- Previously published figures/tables require permission and citation.
- Duplicate submissions and redundant publication are prohibited.
Data Fabrication, Falsification, and Image Manipulation
Data fabrication (making up data), falsification (manipulating data), and misleading image manipulation are considered serious ethical violations. When concerns arise, the journal may request raw data or additional documentation.
Peer Review Ethics
The journal applies a double-blind peer review process whenever possible. Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
- Maintain confidentiality and not share manuscript content.
- Declare conflicts of interest and decline review if necessary.
- Identify relevant published work that is not cited and report suspected ethical issues.
Responsibilities of Editors
- Decision-making: Editors evaluate manuscripts based on scientific merit, relevance, and originality.
- Confidentiality: Editors do not disclose information about submissions.
- Conflict of interest: Editors recuse themselves when conflicts exist.
- Corrections: Editors act promptly on suspected misconduct and may issue corrections or retractions.
Conflicts of Interest
Conflicts of interest can be financial (e.g., funding, employment) or non-financial (e.g., personal relationships, academic competition). All parties (authors, reviewers, editors) must disclose relevant conflicts.
If no conflicts exist, authors should include: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
The journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy of the scholarly record. When errors or misconduct are confirmed, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:
- Correction: For honest errors that do not invalidate the findings.
- Retraction: For unreliable findings, misconduct, plagiarism, or unethical research.
- Expression of Concern: When an investigation is ongoing, but serious concerns exist.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may appeal editorial decisions or submit complaints regarding the editorial process. The editorial office will review appeals fairly and may consult independent experts when appropriate.
Open Access and Copyright
The journal provides open access to published content. At the current stage, publication is free of charge (no APC). Authors retain copyright while granting the journal the right of first publication.
Policy Updates
These policies may be updated to reflect evolving best practices and regulatory requirements. Updates will be posted on the journal website.
