Abstract

This study is devoted to determining the gender characteristics of psychoemotional disorders in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. 116 patients were examined in the study. The psycho-emotional state was assessed using the DASS scale, the Eysenck test, and Jung's typology. According to the results, it was found that depression and anxiety rates are higher in women than in men, and stress reactions predominate in men. The degree of psychoemotional disorders correlated with the duration of the disease and glycemic control. Gender differences are determined by biological and psychosocial factors of psychological reaction mechanisms. The research results indicate the need for a gender-oriented psychological approach in the treatment of diabetes.
